Or German. Or both! The Introductory Philosophy Readings Not School group had a meeting of the minds and decided that we'd like to pursue Kant, so for August we'll be dipping into the Prolegomena to any Future Metaphysics. I, personally, am of the opinion that my proposal was preempted by those who are slowly growing wise to my puckish tendencies for text selection (a brief skim of the previous discussion turns up the words rage, danger, and a curse... I think I could have topped that for August).
Anyone who would like to test the waters is welcome to come on over to the Intro course and join the festivities. The text is available to read here for free, Free, FREE!!!
The purpose of the text is, according to it's author "To persuade all those who think metaphysics worth studying that it is absolutely necessary to pause a moment and, disregarding all that has been done, to propose first the preliminary question, "Whether such a thing as metaphysics be at all possible?""
So there's the question for August! Is an entire branch of philosophy nothing more than worthless tripe?
We shall see, Kant, we shall see...
