What a great, easily understood intro and summary of Jung.
I remember reading Man and his Symbols my first year of college, and putting a dream notebook on my night stand, hoping to get at some good archetypes. The more I tried, the less I remembered my dreams, which I guess reinforces the power of the unconscious.
I think it is amazing how much precognition Nietzsche provided for psychoanalysis.
Now embodied-cognition theorizing and studies are better getting at the divide between the rational and the embodied, the conscious and the unconscious, but psychoanalytic concepts still often guide the way, in the sense of using the unknown as a basis for knowing.
