I’ve just found your podcast while studying ethics at Aberdeen University in Scotland. You give a great overview and I enjoyed the main discussion too. Just a couple of errors:
– you got Anscombe’s birth year wrong
– Anscombe objected to Truman getting an honorary degree from which university? One of the other guys for that wrong in the main discussion.
As a Brit, and non-English, I can attest that we never think of Britain as the mainland of Ireland. Nor Northern Ireland., if that’s what you meant, it wasn’t clear.
Lastly, again as a Brit, the F-word is really really offensive, up there with the n-word. I think it’s been watered down in the USA, but it sounds really off-putting to hear in a podcast.
