The annual holiday frenzy has begun, but our Not School groups will still be soldiering on through December. Most groups have decided to carry November’s readings over, so anyone interested in riveting philosophical conversation has another shot at joining up with them. There are also proposals up in the Citizens’ Forum to read on some other juicy philosophical topics. Not School Memberships start at a bargain $5 recurring monthly donation, or the even better deal of $50 per year. Read more about it here.
Our Philosophy and Fiction Group is continuing its read of The Map and the Territory, by Michel Houellebecq. Their conference call on the book is tenatively scheduled for December 14th, so there’s still plenty of time for a swift reader to catch up and get in on it.
Our Philosophy and Theatre Group is also continuing with some selected readings from The Grotowski Sourcebook (Worlds of Performance). Their conference call is tentatively scheduled for December 7th, though there may be more activity concerning this book throughout the month. Check their page to stay posted.
Our Being and Time Group is well into their read of that book, and looks to be continuing. Check with them if you’re interested in finding out more.
Proposals up so far include Richard Rorty’s Contingency, Irony, and Solidarity, and P. J. Proudhon’s What is Property?
Enjoy your reading, and check back next month to see what’s new.
