You may have noticed that the number of posts to this blog has petered out somewhat over the last year. We’ve got a strong readership, and the podcast makes us a real destination for people interested in philosophy, but with all of our preparation for episodes (and our lives outside of PEL), it’s hard for us to post a lot and/or bug people to do so.
So we’re looking for someone to help us solicit posts from good philosophy writers to build this thing into a real online magazine. Ideally this should be someone (A grad student or other aspiring academic?) with some connections in the academic community, and/or maybe someone who’s been trying to launch such a blog on his or her own, but if you have an interest, drop us a line and express your enthusiasm. No, we don’t have much cash (you would be paid something, as are the writers), but we’ve got a great community and a great platform for you to help us build something bigger in 2015.
Please contact us at pel@partiallyexaminedlife.com if you’re interested. Please include: a brief statement of qualifications, resume, and writing samples (especially links to what’s available).

Hi! My name is Dylan, and I’m a recent yet somewhat avid follower of the PEL. I’m a grad student at Texas State, with limited experience in the blogosphere – mostly polemical forum rants pre-2010 and a few failed attempts (you might still be able to find globalmindframe.com if you look hard enough). I have been looking for something to spend a little free time on that isn’t too divergent from my philosophy grad student career, and would be happy to see what I could do as a blog admin for you guys.
My projects at Texas State are somewhat numerous, but my graduation date is this May. Anyway, I hope I’m a candidate that seems interesting (and that you’re willing to suffer multiple Dylans in your midst) – if so, please send me an email!
Hello Mark!
I would love to be considered as a Blog Administrator for Partially Examined Life! Philosophy has been a long time passion of mine, and I love to see it spark thought in those around me and on the online community as well. I have been planning a blog website myself to review local underground shows and would love blog administration experience, especially for a podcast I have thoroughly enjoyed. I currently work freelance as a Social Media consultant, so my hours are flexible and I would be able to dedicate a good amount of time to the Partially Examined Life blog. I feel this would be the perfect position to utilize the administrative skills I have gained thus far as well as remain inspired in my work. I am happy to provide references and any additional information you may need. Thanks, and enjoy your week!

Mark, I would be most excited to develop The Partially Examined Life blog into a thought provoking online magazine! From 1998 to 2010, I led Minciu Sodas, an online laboratory for independent thinkers around the world. We had online working groups based on their leaders’ deepest values in life, as led by Franz Nahrada (optimal interplay – for projects in support of global villages), Janet Feldman (holistic helping – especially in Africa), Pamela McLean (learning from each other – for distance learning), John Rogers (participatory society – for community currency, open economy), Eluned Hurn (fighting peacefully – most notably with our Pyramid of Peace http://www.pyramidofpeace.net – see how we combined wikis, chats, Skype, blogs and acrobats!) , and my own value – living by truth, some twenty groups in all. Our motto was “Do you care about thinking?”.
The lab was a practical application of my own quest to know everything and apply that knowledge usefully. I’ve written an illustrated summary of my own thinking: http://www.selflearners.net/wiki/Truth/Book I have a Ph.D. in Math (UCSD) and a B.A. in Physics (University of Chicago) and have worked as a database developer and web programmer. I have won travel awards for my papers in open economics, the Public Domain, leadership development and online organizing. I’ve engaged thousands of independent thinkers. My favorite living thinkers include Christopher Alexander, Gilles Fauconnier, George Lakoff and Stephen Wolfram. I would promote younger wisdom-lovers such as the underground philosophy events that are starting in Vienna: https://www.facebook.com/philosophyunbound I live in the Lithuanian countryside and so my needs are modest. Please, please, please choose me, me, me!!!!
Could everyone who’s posted here please email us at pel@partiallyexaminedlife.com so we can respond to you that way? Thank you!
