I got a chance to sit down and chat with my old bandmate (he played drums in The Fake) Dave Hamilton (who hosts three different podcasts!) to talk about my ill-fated musical “career” and my relationship to the many great musicians I’ve played with, most of whom were able to play out more and make more money with their other projects, leaving me in a few cases the last man standing in a band whose album I then was left to finish on my own.
In related news, a) I’m getting serious about starting a new podcast interviewing songwriters in 2016 and have a couple of guests on the hook already (just friends of mine; no one famous yet), b) I just got the mastered recordings back of my new album “Songs from the Partially Examined Life,” which should be available for sale here and on CDBaby.com as of 12/1 (and free for PEL Citizens!) and on iTunes/Spotify/Amazon/etc. within a week or two afterward. Woo hoo!
For posting to CDBaby, I need to put down a few artists that I sound like. I’m having trouble thinking of any; if you wouldn’t mind listening to a bit of the first several tracks here and giving me some recommendations, I’d appreciate it.

Hi Mark,
Not sure if you’re familiar with George Hrab, but his stuff and your stuff have a strong family resemblance (to get all Wittgenstein) to my mind…
Here’s his CD Baby URL:

Cheers,

…and George also has a long running podcast (The Geologic Podcast) and might be an interesting guest/resource for your new music themed podcast.
