Exciting news 🙂 After literal years of planning, we’re finally moving forward with something that you guys have often requested: A Partially Examined Life book! We’ll be doing gradual reveals of title, cover and contents coming up. What I can tell you at this time is that it will include:
- 18 episodes from over the 15 years of the PEL broadcast
- New and classic essays by Mark, Wes (and even yours truly)
- Never-before-seen behind-the-scenes pictures of the team and guests.
While you’re waiting for details, I do have a request to make. My dream is for this book to debut on the top of the bestseller lists. A philosophy book at #1? Sounds crazy, right? But I have faith in our fan-base.
But for that to even be a possibility, we’ll need your help. Click through to the form below to sign up for advance updates about the book, and to share your brilliant ideas for publicizing it. I’ll be giving away a limited number of Advance Review Copies to some of our fans as the release date gets closer, so make sure you check the appropriate box if you’d like to be considered for one. And be sure to comment below to let us know what you’re most excited about.

Note: For those wondering who I am, I joined the PEL auxiliary team about six years ago as a content writer for the blog (probably best-known for the “Saints & Simulators” series) and I’ve been working behind-the-scenes with the core team for the past several years to help them realize their dream of publishing a book.

Very much looking forward to it.
Will the book include something from or about us listeners and the communities that have existed around the podcast? For example, I’ve met up with listeners from other countries, and I’m sure lots of other cool stuff has happened.
Hi Peter – the content for this book is 90% finalized already, but we’re hoping to do additional ones if this goes well. In any case, I’d love to hear more. The linked form would be a good place to get in touch with me–just put a note in the “other comments” section, and I’ll do my best to follow up.
Congratulations – this is tremendous!
