The Partially Examined Life is looking for someone to help with the tasks needed to run a podcast network. Duration is 6 months minimum, est. 5-10 hrs. per week with no fixed schedule. This is a remote collaboration; you'll need consistent access to wi-fi. The payment will primarily be in knowledge, but a small amount of cash will be involved too.
Duties: Help run PEL social media, do basic video editing and management of the PEL YouTube page, possible audio editing and work on the PEL blog, outreach to academics, press, PEL listenership, possible organization of an effort to transcribe PEL episodes. Attend a weekly PEL phone meeting and track current initiatives and priorities. Basically, you shadow us when we meet as a group and act as an extra set of hands to take on tasks that we don't have time for.
Requirements: We picture this as a position for someone in school or newly out of school for philosophy who wants to learn about podcasting and build his or her resume, but if that doesn't describe you and you're a good writer and fan of the show with the time and desire to put into this, then reach out to us anyway. You don't have to have experience in any of the specific duties mentioned above, but you need to be someone not afraid to figure out new technology or do research on how to get something done.
Please send a cover letter describing your relevant goals and experience to PEL@partiallyexaminedlife.com along with two brief writing samples of any sort. A resume would be nice, but don't sweat it if you don't already have one.
