Live

James Madison and Alexander HamiltonPEL LIVE IS BACK

THE LIVESTREAM IS RUNNING

…Where it all started, in Madison WI (well, Middleton, technically) at the Craftsman Table and Tap, on…

SATURDAY JULY 11, 1-3pm (doors open at noon)

Our topic: For America’s 250th birthday, we’ll be discussing the American experiment in its rationale and execution, focusing on The Federalist Papers (70, 78, 39, 54, 10), The Anti-Federalist Papers Brutus 11 and 15 (aka 78-80, “Power of the Judiciary”), and Frederick Douglass’ “Fourth of July” Speech. The last 30 min will be a Q&A.

How to attend: Seating will be very limited. To ensure  your spot:

REGISTER HERE

There is a suggested donation of $25, which you can send us in advance via our PayPal donation option, or just bring money with you.

Also, it is a restaurant (with great food; we’ll be providing some snacks), and part of our rental arrangement is that they expect our party to spend a good amount on food and drink (or they’ll charge is the difference), so come expecting to buy a meal or at least a couple of drinks.

So you order that food and such without missing any of the show, we recommend you show up closer to noon when the doors open, though 12:30 should be fine. Parking is plentiful and free.

Will those not able to attend be able to experience the discussion? Yes, definitely. This will be released as a public PEL episode, hopefully with video.

Will there be a live stream? Yes, see above…

About The Partially Examined Life

The Partially Examined Life is a philosophy podcast by some guys who were at one point set on doing philosophy for a living but then thought better of it. Each episode, we pick a text and chat about it with some balance between insight and flippancy. You don’t have to know any philosophy, or even to have read the text we’re talking about to (mostly) follow and (hopefully) enjoy the discussion
